Born on March 5, 1985 (finally celebrated my thirty-eighth birthday in 2023). Formally received Montessori education around the age of five in 1989. First encountered a computer with the Macintosh LC around the age of seven in 1991, and created my first website for a dear friend around the age of eleven in 1995. Studied literature and linguistics at Chung-Ang University and computer programming (though I prefer to call it ‘literature and linguistics in a narrow sense’ or simply ‘poetic computation’) at the School for Poetic Computation (SFPC) in the United States, and learned various practical skills such as knot tying, ikebana (生け花), and design through Google. Worked as a researcher (despite the title, there was hardly any work) at Hongik University Professor Ahn Sang-soo’s laboratory (commonly known as ‘Wing House’). After Ahn Graphics Publishing Division, worked as an editor, designer, and programmer at Workroom (though I try to maintain the title ‘editor’ as much as possible, since I still have many business cards printed with ‘editor’ and all three tasks require thorough editorship), planning ’Practical Books’, Ametora, and other publications, and creating various websites large and small. Meanwhile, always thinking of Laurel Schwulst, I run a one-person company Min Guhong Manufacturing with Kim Jaeyeon, Baek Changin, and Han Yongpa (celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2025).
